Where do I begin?
The drive there? The beautiful scenery? Nature's sounds?
If Chicago was as beautiful as the drive headed to Yosemite National Park, I might consider spending money on a car. Unfortunately, it isn’t. On the way, I saw sheep. SHEEP! I only see sheep at petting zoos! There were a bunch of them and they were chilling in the field. Across from them were horses and further down the road there were cows. I wanted to stop to take pictures of the animals, but I decided not to do it. A mistake I do regret...
The first place I visited was Washburn Point. A small observation area tucked in the corner of the winding roads headed to Glacier Point. Of course, the view was amazing! Close sites to view: Half Dome, Vernal Fall, and Nevada Fall. If you are traveling to Glacier Point, Washburn Point is a quick stop you should check out. A nice spot to eat lunch. I enjoyed a gourmet Ham and Cheese Lunchable with Cheddar Cheese chips.

After Washburn Point, I headed up to Glacier Point for a hike and a wedding. Yes, there was a wedding on top of a mountain. Creative! I know the photos will be great. What better backdrop to have than Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, North Dome and lots of blue skies! There is also a gift shop and a café at the top of the hike. The hot dog was FIRE!
Bring lots of WATER! I bought a gallon before I entered the park and it was so necessary…

SENTINEL DOME! A short hike that let me know I was walking on the mountain. HIGH elevation. This hike was fun. I thought a lot. I talked to myself, a lot. I sang a little. I observed a lot. I tripped a couple of times. Oops. Said hello to a few people, included an older lady dressed in all white outfit that looked fresh of the hangar. She was styling on top of the mountain! At one point I thought I made it to the top until I looked over and saw people were still going. I stopped to take a quick break and sat down for a water break. After a few minutes, I continued my short journey to the top of the dome.
360 DEGREE VIEW!

Yosemite is BEAUTIFUL! Nature is BEAUTIFUL! I chilled here for a little while before heading down. No, seriously, it was windy and cool at the top. I saw a deer on the way down. I didn’t take a photo because there was a group ahead of me and I wanted to stay close. I had the wrong lens attached anyway.
On to the last stop of the day...the famous…the popular…Tunnel View.
Half Dome, Sentinel Dome, Bridalveil Fall and more all in ONE VIEW!
This place even more breathtaking than the pictures online. You have to go here when you visit Yosemite. I was able to pull right into a parking spot. Traveling trough the tunnel is fun too. This was the last stop on my first day in Yosemite.

I am excited to take the drive back there again in about an hour! Hope you enjoy a few photos from my Day 2 journey!
